I Will Speak Your Name

September 17th, 2012

I have long spoken the name of the God I love.  This great love has taken me across the world to minister His heart to all who will listen. It has also found me planting the “seeds” of His words and ways in the lives of those He knits into my daily routine.  I do this because I believe no willing heart is beyond the reaches of His transformative truth.  I have been blessed and humbled by the amazing opportunities God has given me to be a witness of His heart.

I hope that you will not fear to speak of Him boldly, live for Him faithfully, and serve Him – even the quietest ways. At times you may feel this goes unseen, but the world is silently looking and so is God. Only eternity will tell the full measure of blessing that can come from hearts wholly submitted to their wondrous Creator. We must walk humbly with God and man, but we also need a spirit of confidence, knowing His presence is always with us. Only then does this world find a glimpse of unshakeable peace, true power, and redemption that heals even the deepest pains.

Of course, there will always be those who try to silence a witness, but it matters not how this world may judge us. We must simply be faithful to Christ’s call and walk with the fragrance of His love upon us. This song remains my ceaseless prayer that God will grant me the strength, wisdom, courage, and compassion to carry His name wherever He leads.

“Moses said to the Lord, ‘O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since You have spoken to Your servant.  I am slow of speech and tongue.’ The Lord said to him, ‘Who gave man his mouth?  Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind?  Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.’” -Exodus 4:10-12 NIV

“But the Lord said to me, ‘Do not say, ‘I am only a youth;’ for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and all that I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord.’ Then the Lord put out His hand and touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me, ‘Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.’” -Jeremiah 1:7-9 ESV

“Please anoint my lips, precious Father; for this world is nothing without Your name… and neither am I.”

I Will Speak Your Name

You said, “Go into all the world.”
You said to lift up Your name,
And You would draw all men unto Yourself,
And I must obey…

Fill my words.  Anoint my lips,
And I will speak Your name.
The world may scorn; the world may laugh,
But it doesn’t matter what they say.
I am Yours; You are mine. I cannot cease from this refrain.
Whate’er the cross, the loss, the pain… I will speak Your name.

You said that Your words wouldn’t
Return, void, back to You.
Now, I’ll rest in Your promises
And hope in Your truth…

Fill my words.  Anoint my lips,
And I will speak Your name.
The world may scorn; the world may laugh,
But it doesn’t matter what they say.
I am Yours; You are mine. I cannot cease from this refrain.
Whate’er the cross, the loss, the pain… I will speak Your name.
