The Way, the Truth, and the Life

October 10, 2012

One day, I was reading through a passage in John 14 and was moved when I came to verse 6:

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” -John 14:6

It touched me because I’ve so often found myself in need of God’s leading in my life. Although I trust Him as my Savior and have long loved Him, I am sometimes misled by this world or confused, in spite of my devotion to Him. We all need His guidance to find the way and His truth to liberate us from the lies told by this world and even our own hearts, at times.

I am so indebted to Christ for providing the only Way to reach His loving Father’s presence. May you feel this truth within your own heart as you listen: He is the only Way, the only Truth, the only life we’ll ever have. Please, trust Him!

“Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.” -John 1:12 NIV

The Way, the Truth, the Life

I can feel lost in the brightest of days;
It doesn’t take much for a soul to lose its way,
But e’er since I found You, or was it You found me…
Following Your steps, I’ve found my destiny.

When I am lost, Your way’s there to guide me.
When I’m misled, Your heart brings its truth.
When I fall captive to shackles of fear and defeat,
You’re the life breathing life in me.

So many views this world tries to share.
Sometimes I’m encompassed by lies everywhere.
It’s then that I listen with all the strength I hold
To hear that sweet heartbeat… Your truth within my soul.

When I am lost, Your way’s there to guide me.
When I’m misled, Your heart brings its truth.
When I fall captive to shackles of fear and defeat,
You’re the life breathing life in me.

Oh, grave, where is thy victory?
Oh, death, where is thy sting?
For death is swallowed up in victory,
For the life never-dying is Christ Who’s inside me…

When I am lost, Your way’s there to guide me.
When I’m misled, Your heart brings its truth.
When I fall captive to shackles of fear and defeat,
You’re the life breathing life in me.
